Who knows Iron Mike, it is in their self-interest to go with the Coalition - the electorate recriminations will be far less for them if they back the coalition.

They will not be held responsible anywhere to the same degree for the impact Coaltion policy compared to ALP-Green Policy.

A re-election mantra of "A vote for Katter/Oakeshott/Windsor is a vote for the ALP" and any infinite number of variations, will be death for the three.

The Coalition will pull out all shots with additional funding to win back these electorates with "whatever it takes" in revenge.

If they support the Coalition, they will even get praise from the Coalition for "sticking to their roots", and may well be pretty much left alone to get re-elected.

So, from a self-interest point of view, backing the Coalition will deliver them a better personal outcome.
