    They will fail particularly i9f the electorates do well under Labor. The Nationals within the coalition will be trying to undermine them as always-and will continue to fail as always.

    If government stability is the issue then its not possible wih the coalition as Labor and the Greens control the senate and as they are in alliance they can oppose all coalition legislation the labor and green alliance disagree with. It would mean the coalition would simply sit on the government benches and receive all the perks and achieve next to nothing because of the Senate.

    A double disolution would be likely if the coalition wre in power but it could not occur until after July next year when the new Senate comes into being. There is no doubt that a labor government because of its alliance with the Greens would be more stable with its legislative program more likely to pass.

    I cant predict what the independents will decide but if their greatest factor is stability of Parliament I cant see how they cannot choose Gillard.
