Your dead right about the share price movements.
I had a bit of time so went in search of confirmation that something sinister happened at the Conference and had a look at HGO compared to the mining and metals sector.
It seems nothing sinister happened .
Between the 8/02 and the 20/02 HGO went from 7.3 to 7.1 and the sector went from 7.3 to 7.2
The announcement and conference caused an increase in volume and HGO went up 0.5 to 7.8 and the sector stayed steady at 7.3
The day after the conference 8m shares changed hands as the traders moved on and
HGO dropped to to 7.1 as they exited. The sector finished at 7.2.
It seems its all just the crazy market acting like a flock of sheep following itself around.
I'm reminded of the chap wearing a Cap with two peaks one at 9 o'clock and one and 3 o'clock with the caption. I'm their leader which way did they go.
Take away.
During the development stage buying that is based on good vibes will temporarily kick the price up but won't be sustainable. We need to get the runs on the board and cash balances building for a sustained improvement in the price IMO.
