This is an evolving science that is not yet proven as there has not been enough time elapsed and it has already been stated by some of the scientists that their assumptions and tests at earlier times were incorrect as they used the wrong standards, so comparisons with today are flawed.

IT IS IMPOSSIBLE to accurately compare figures now with figures of 2000 years ago unless they strictly observe the systems used to collect the 2000 year date and even then it is only an example because any system used 2000 years ago is flawed

The planet has warmed and cooled independent of man for it's entire lifespan since the big bang
Human habitation on this planet represents an infinitesimal portion of the life of the planet
It is also obvious that human habitation has altered nature of the planet
Just the same as human kind has the same infinitesimal ability to alter it back to what it was
It is also obvious that mankind must do all that is practical and economically viable to protect the planet

What is at question here is to achieve the best result that we can actually achieve
If we cut population by 50% that would have a massive improvement
If we banned all IC engine vehicles, big improvement
If we stopped ALL timber clearing, big improvement
If we closed every fossil fuel generating plant, minimal improvement

We are being led by multi nationals who are making huge incomes from the alternate energy field and stupid politicians who are making political decisions for their own personal reasons

Far too many people are relying on pseudo science and theory scientists and just believing what they are being told by their political masters "who must be obeyed"

As with all things DYOR do not believe anything you can't prove by yourself

It is possible to determine Human industry produced CO2 due to its 'isotope signature', however I agree (to my knowledge) there is no way of 'directly measuring' specifically Australia's CO2 output.

IMHO, the simplest (yet difficult) solution would be to invent 'GHG scrubbers' for automobiles etc and 'fume stacks'.
That would be a 'win-win' we get to keep using cheap Fossil Fuels and no GHGs pollution.
I estimate a GHG scrubber could make it's inventor >$1Billion.
