I think the actionable insights side of the coin is a good retention mechanism. Over time they'll increase the value of this too with additional sensors and perhaps the device can turn into a bit of a control centre too through software updates / integrations.

Also true that having a dashboard in the foyer or elsewhere in a building will make it quite conspicuous to remove unintentionally signalling to building occupants that they don't care about the environment or are regressing in some way.
