Wanted to pick your brain and assessment of the refusal of EPP41 and EPP42, to which you appear to put considerable weight to (not sure how highly you value this).

I had it in the back of my mind reading they were refused from the location of the marine park.

I had to do a little bit of research and they are and they located in or on the boundary of the Western Eyre Gazetted Marine Park. There are 3 permits in these waters being EPP41 EPP42 and EPP46. EPP46 (i did the mark up on the aerial map from the commonwealth marine parks interactive mapping, there there or there abouts)

2018 had a research voyage in the area which included the SA Gov (their troubles post this are their issues arise). Seems like it is pretty important ecologically. Didn't really research this part.

This to me seems to me it could be the definitive factor. EPP46 even had their surrender refused (not sure what to make of that)

Additionally, NOPTA had this application for 56 days which from my review is very unusual. They usually take 20 or under days. Iv seen a couple others go long but they had a huge amount of time on information request so assuming they went back and forth throughout the processes. Might be another indication that NOPTA was against this proposal.

Overall it makes sense you can't overcome a marine park and an important ecological location.

Excluding these refusal, everything else has been approved. Food for thought and keen for your take adding in that piece of information.
