This was a long time ago, 2017.
And this was still being said at the end of 2019 —that was due to when the US manufacturing predominant financial arm of Lederle, got acquired, and a “rolling series of mergers “ subsequently occurred.
‘Bisantrene lost’ in amongst all.
Lederle really had been French only in name since 1929 in America, when US interests predominantly acquired the company but kept Lederle name also.
There was a significant portfolio of drugs but esp antibiotics etc maybe wanted, and the famed facilities. (can google Lederle and they really were very respected for nearly 100 years)
