I picked up 3 pieces of Sheoak last week, base of trunk/root system and was wondering what the protocol is regarding oiling and sanding them?

They are freshly cut/ripped out ( approximately 2-3 months I believe) of Mother Earth.

I originally got them to go into the fire bucket but I picked away at one, liked the colour/texture and got curious enough to work out what it was.

I’m still thinking about what the first bit will turn into and then thought I should try and find out if I need to wait 6/12 months for them to dry or if it’s better to just get on with it, as is?
