Virgin Blue (ASX:VBA) estimates reported net profit for 2006/07 will be
in excess of $158 million, a 40 per cent increase on the prior
corresponding result of $113m.
The revised forecast follows improvement in market conditions and
the airline's performance as a result of its New World Carrier strategy.
The company has finalised its Long Haul Feasibility Plan and
planning and implementation of a wide-body international program will be
expedited.
This is subject to granting of adequate bilateral access and
conclusion of aircraft negotiations.
International long haul operations are expected to be launched by
late 2008.
Virgin Blue shares were last traded at $2.15
