muzzarati, you are typically wrong again. The FWA ruling only prohibits strike action for 21 days, not forever as you suggest. So in essence all the ruling has done is force Qantas management back to the negotiating table with the unions to hopefully come to some agreement before 21 days is up. There is no guarantee that FWA will then rule in favour of Qantas management, or the unions.

Qantas doesn't have to be the cheapest airline around. Certainly if it is the cheapest, or even close, it won't remain the safest. Safety requires training, experience and dedictaion. Safety costs money, money that Qantas has traditionally invested to remain the safest. Qantas can compete on price and service with Singapore Airlines or Emirates if they want to but it seems they want to go up against the likes of Airasia and Tiger instead.
