I think if FRH had left out the bit about the 50+ year old woman he may of received a different response. Experience is the best thing but if only they could have experience and still enjoy their job. I'm a qantas ff and unfortunately now try and avoid flying qantas when possible , not because I want to ogle size 10 waitresses but I want decent service if I'm stuck on a plane anywhere from 10 - 24 hrs. And there's nothing wrong with thai or singapore airways safety record. And the ways things are going for qantas it's not a matter of if they have a major incident it's a matter of when. On a recent return trip to the UK with qantas the guy's seat in front of mine was on my knees. He continually apologised and I felt sorry for both of us as the seat was missing some bolts. The amazing thing was , he had the same seat there and it was exactly the same. He notified the cabin crew and it still hadn't been fixed. Amazing. The foods great but try and find a steward after the meals been finished and they've cleaned up. Only plce I've ever seen people vanish into thin air is on a qantas flight. I think the problem lies in fact they have had a monopoly on a lot of routes for too long and have become complaicent.
