Absolutely GZ, but my comments about service weren't neccessarily to do with being able to get a refill of your favourite tipple all the way to London. It's been a long long time since I've hit the turps on a long haul flight. Not since the days when you could light up a winfield up the back in "the smoking area" in fact. I was refering to the need for a glass of water, pillow , blanket, something for the kids, panadol etc etc. After all, they are in the service industry and like the term or not they are still in a sense waiters and carers of paying clients. Fair enough they may be great in an emergency but they shouldn't have the attitude that the rest is a chore and their only real job is the important things if something happens. I'm not complaining about all of them either, let's be fair, I've had some brilliant service and people serve me on Qantas over the years. I think they just need it reinstilled in a lot of them now that their attitude needs to be sharpened up to compete with the likes of the Asian airlines and now the middle east airlines who offer excellent service. And after all, they are sometimes the first and last impression a visitor to Austraila will have. they have a great responsibilty just there.
