If you are travelling once a week you should hit gold fairly quick. The lounge is ok but i also think it's over rated unless you just want to booze up which i normally can't as flying for work. It is handy with international travel as you can have a shower and freshen up.
$400/year for the cars sounds too much. I think the NAB version is only $250 but even then it's a lot of money. I guess it depends on how much you will be spending on that card per year. I only use my credit card for work (I hate them and prefer to use savings). If you are flying that often you don't really need more points as you will be racking up plenty.
I will be interested to see what others think as i often wonder the same.
