It might very well be $6 next week but it'll be back to $2 or less next year. A fall in global covid infections reversed a month ago and the 7 day rolling average death rate just started trending up again yesterday. Vaccine programs are clearly not working and Australia, which has worked so hard to have zero community transmission, will not let international tourism come in and screw up our clean slate so easily.
An Australian airline is literally the dumbest place to put money right now, especially ahead of the end of Jobkeeper, and the insanely high Qantas price is perhaps the most obvious symbol of this bubble market when people look back at this after it collapses. An EV for Qantas that is now higher than pre covid is nothing short of peak absurdity.
