It looks like AJ is taking to QI with a hatchet.

If I'm reading the whole presentation correctly they are reducing the international fleet by almost half (23 aircraft comprising 14 A380's and 9 747's) from 58 (page 112).

It also looks like they are earmarking all 787's for Jetstar (pg 109) which really baffles me as they keep on saying the international is not profitable but they are moving the aircraft which has better fuel economy and unit costs than what the A380 (ref pg 111) brings but moving it to a sister company, this does make much sense to me.

QI is competing against carriers which primarily run twin engined 777's and A330's (Plus the copious amounts of 787 and A350's on order in the region) which have lower fuel burns, less maintenance costs associated with them, not to mention the A380 can only go in to airports which have had upgrades specific to the A380 made to them, thus limiting potential destinations.

All of this really beggars belief that they are really making a serious attempt at keeping this business alive.

I would welcome anyone else's opinions on this matter and I honestly cannot see why I should reinvest in the company when it seems they are no serious in competing with people in the region outside of the leisure market.
