IMO you have missed the point that many are making. The point that most are reiterating is that QAN mangement have failed badly in their choice of aircraft (despite being told numerous times by the pilots and others that the 777 would be a better aircraft). QAN could have had these aircraft years ago, with huge advantages in performance and cost savings, yet they have missed the boat and now send an extra $300-450m of shareholders money down the drain per year on fuel. That is the point many have made.
The other point that people have been making is that the 787 (when they come online) should go straight to QAN mainline, not the discount arm of Jetstar. If QAN managemnet wishes to improve its international division, it should be directing all of its efforts towards this area, not focusing on Asia and jetstar. All my opinion of course.
