Bit competition worked wonders here for the three cities involved when Jetstar did some internal flights. Nelson was the main beneficiary with passenger numbers higher than Dunedin. Sadly didn't last, partly suspect because they bypassed rotorua or maybe Tauranga. With any sort of foothold in aussie sure air nz would adopt a join 'em rather than fight 'em fare policy.
