I remember full well the tribulations of a Queensland factory during the height of union power/dominance in the Whitlam era......the workers could not/didnt want to understand that the business couldnt afford their claims. The workers went out for a prolonged strike.....cant remember how long. Eventually, they ran out of beer money and arrived back at the gates saying : "We, the workers hereby decided to return to work temporarily (read "till we get more beer money" to carry out more negotiations re our demands".
the response was :" Sorry, we are shut down for good, we couldnt afford to keep this up".
Unionists: "You cant do that, what are we going to do?"
lol. They should have thought of that. Once upon a time, a worker was there to serve the company. Now, it seems, some think business is there to serve them......
