Eventually, unfortunately, 'luck' has a bad habit of running out.
Not that we wish it upon anyone or anything, but consider politics: someone who wins a seat by 20 votes is 'lucky' that those few last individuals voted for him or her, and even that they submitted a ballot or voted on the day, perhaps five minutes before the 1800 hours polls closure.
Tends not to happen concurrently twice.
