I've been researching various nations' requirements for entry.

It continues to be a hotchpotch, varying from the welcome mat being fully rolled out to very time consuming multiple tests being required. Cost of the latter varies hugely from very cheap in India to the opposite in some Western nations.

Stopovers may become impractical, but for many leisure travellers, these break up an otherwise arduous journey and allow them to 'tick off' a new country.

These rules won't stop everyone travelling but once prospective users become aware (IF they look it up or have it explained to them by a travel agent or on a website), some may decide 'it's all too hard'.

We don't want to exaggerate but it's possible quite a few on each flight will be turned away due to not having complied with all the requirements for one's smartphone (or paper based). It's a nightmare for airlines if families are separated, especially if there are children under say 15 involved.

None of this is great for QAN, Jetstar or its competitors.
