qantas - swim or sink

I read in this mornings paper that the pollies are probably going to prop up Qantas with a guarantee by taxpayers.

I suppose it was almost inevitable with these people enjoying the benefits of the Qantas chairman's lounge. They are too close to Qantas to separate their own well being from good policy.

Qantas is like any other business. It should sink or swim. free enterprise is about survival of the fittest and renewal via replacement of the weak.

Qantas mismanaged IR, capital and customer relations, let it die and be replaced. Don't accept tripe about it providing an essential service, a better competitor will do it, probably using some of the same planes and staff.

The Qantas act affects who can buy shares, it was factored into the float price for shares, it doesn't affect their operations.

Let Qantas sink if it can't swim.
