What is really becoming a worry in this company, there are apparently 12 Jetstar A320's in storage throughout the world with engine covers on. That means the QANTAS Group have ordered more A320's than they can crew or find work for. I wonder what the delivery schedule is for the A320's in 2014 and will immediately be parked at another airport near you.
How have the QANTAS management got themselves into this mess and more concerning is, where is their backup strategy and why are they allowed to continue without one?
5 parked aircraft in Narita, 4 in Toulouse, 1 in Bordeaux, 2 in Melbourne which cost approximately $4m a year each in leasing costs. That is a combined $48m a year and we haven't taken in the cost of actually parking them!
