Lets take this perk away completely. Lets get them to travel and engage with the voting public. Of course if they accrue enough miles they would get access to relevant lounges, but why are they hiding away in the elite Chairmans Lounge. Qantas is not offering out of kindness
Last Year Qantas received $25m in airfares from politicians. That is 90% of the overall spend Virgin gets $2.7m Rex got $150k Jetstar got $130
Qantas is the most expensive and the rules say parliamentarians must get best value for money.
You can't say this level of expenditure is not a result of them having access to Chairmans lounge. It needs to be taken away as a perk
