When Qatar got Zinedine Zidane - ex French International and legend of the game on board to adverise on Sweedish TV commercials advocating for Qatar - What do you think the FIFA delegates saw and heard when they switched on their hotel TV?

Zinedine Zidane saying " Football is for everyone" not just the few Football mad nations

You know what - Even knowing this is clever marketing - If I'm honest with myself, I find that I must totally agree! - Football is the world game and therefore for everyone!

Remember, up until Korea/Japan World Cup FIFA had always held it in just 2 continents Europe or South America. decade upon decade it went from Europe to South America and back.

I have reservations about FIFA (They are opposed to Video Technology - which in my oppinion then still allows games to be rigged as video ref not there to over rule)but on this I absolutely support them. Only time will tell if sucessful. The always have been so no reason to doubt.

We can comment all we like but lets not be all sour grapes about it just because we didnt get what we thought should happen. Maybe the process could have been better or the result not leaked but would any of that changed the result?

Leaks are just the truth coming out early - Doesnt change the facts! Just effects the Drama.

PS:
I find it unbeleivable that the US President even gets involved and comments that FIFA got it wrong by giving it to Qatar... Sure It's the worlds biggest single sporting event, I get it, but doesnt the US president have his nations economy, cronic unemployment and other political and diplomatic issues to worry about? ... Ah Ha, maybe U.S. winning the bid would have cured many of his countries woes! That's why he was so dissapinted and unsually publically critical.

I guess it shows how important this thing is to a lot of people from all walks of life all over the world!!!
