the fear isnt simply the game 'taking over' but more the 3 things that dictate where money goes these days, media, sponsors & government, all become 'soccer blinded' as the years approaching the event came closer, devoting every cent of their sports budgets to ONE SPORT. i dont fear for AFL, as it is strong and will survive (been self reliant since day 1), NRL is almost totally supported thru its media friends anyway, but so many other pastimes that rely totally on these 3 funding groups will see that funding evaporate, all in the name of 'the world game'.

soccer demands we become just like the rest of the world - sorry no thanks, not interested.

and it wants a free ride getting there.
