Last year Hurricane Sandy formed Oct 22 and only dissipated October 31. The history of the previous years of Atlantic Hurricane seasons also suggest that you can only be confident no Hurricane will devastate the US until after October at the very least, another 2 weeks to go.
So for now I am still on the edge of my seat, will breath a sigh of relief once this month is over.
