Yep, the IAG play was dead when QBE said so (they tend to honour what is released in ASX annoucements, a rare thing these days1
I have looked at the PMI deal, and to me it looks fantastic. QBE have acquired the upside and eliminated almost all the associated risk during the critical period (next 3 years) again after 110 value accretive takeovers QBE look to have executed a top shelf deal.
co-incidentally I bought more today, and now very happy. My take is the market will like this ($25 open tommorow), only risk is the word "property insurance" spooking, but prof investors will applaud the deal
