That is certainly a relevant idea but is just never going to happen under our current system or anything like it. I think the rise of shareholder associations has all in all been a positive as the small shareholders can become united however there is still a long way to go to eliminate the "gravy train" mentality a lot of boards seem to have. QBE has now had 10 years of poor management and been totally sluggish to make changes. I would hate to think the amount of money they have paid out in board/executive fees in that time (and how much it has risen year on year while the share price declined)
