Logically I don't understand why only those folks who bought during that specific trading period should be regarded as victims. ALL QBE shareholders were victims, as they could have sold their holdings when price was high and bought back in after the news. There is a loss of foregone "profit". So in essence all shareholders are coughing up to compensate some shareholders for a fraction of their loss, remunerate the litigation funder and Maurice Blackburn. Biggest beneficiaries are the litigation funder and Maurice Blackburn. On a net basis, shareholders are worse off and directors are like "Oh well....no pain felt".

The only way the lesson will be learnt will be for the directors at the time to have their pay docked for this stuff up. Even though QBE has not admitted liability, this settlement smells like an admission of guilt.
