Huntleys commented today " ... BRW article created negative sentiment although the article flies in the face of factual briefings by QBE to analysts and press alike. Its re-insurance is anchored with major re-insurers, not at risk, and the recent capital debt raisings far from simply papering over capital issues arising from September 11 ... allow it to profit from the current very high margin insurance business. As is common knowledge insurance premiums on just about everything including morning cornflakes, have gone through the roof, a fabulous period for an insurer such as QBE."
