Think of QBE as a call option on the US$. You can also consider it a put on the Aussie $.
In the meantime a nice 9%+ dividend will also protect the downside on this well-run company.
Look at a long term US$ chart and you will see that it bounces considerably every year or so. IMHO we are close to a bounce now. When sanity returns to the markets QBE will be a valuable core holding bought at fire-sale prices.
I bought [again] today after being stopped out twice before on the way down. Third time lucky?
