Following last weeks news of the US$9.5bn bid for RSA Insurance in the UK is anyone else looking at QBE through the lens of being a near term target in a sector that’s pushing through a consolidation cycle?
The valuation read across for the RSA bid would imply about 30% upside from here.
The business has cleaned a lot of garbage out over the past 18months, making it significantly more attractive to a suitor. The lack of a permanent CEO is interesting, current chap could be seen to be acting as a caretaker while the shingle is being hung out?
