OK so the consensus is that QBE is looking a bit shaky so whats the best put warrant, wmp its cheap 3.2-3.3 but doesn't have good time value (July) or wgp which is 6 X more expensive @ 21-22c but has great time value (Oct)

    Experts opinions please

    G'day biggest,

I am not familiar with the particular warrants that you mention however, if I may, I'll make a brief comment or two re time value.

You say that the shorter dated warrant "doesnt have good time value" and vice-versa for the longer dated warrant. Just bear in mind that you are actually buying that time value. So in fact, depending upon your view of the stock, the shorter dated warrant may have "better" time value. Remember that this thing called "time value" that you are buying is a depreciating asset.

By buying a longer dated warrant you are giving your "prediction" more time to come to fruition. Hence you have to pay more for the (longer) time value.
