QE3 By buying mortgage-linked debt, the Fed hopes to press mortgage costs lower and force investors into other assets, lowering their yields as well. Those lower borrowing costs should spur greater lending activity and foster faster economic growth. I think this will be damaging short term for QBE, but good in the long run, when inflation hits town. Short term, it sends up the AU dollar, and lower US bond yields. Not good. Any other thoughts?
