the AFL officials were already ‘in’ months ago, did their quarantine and are making money and jobs for queensland

And I suspect making money for Victoria too. The AFL was touch and go until the decision of hubs was made.

AFL contributes ~$7bn to Australian economy so I'm guessing that's factored into the equations
