Just saw QLD Deputy Premier Steven Miles on the news refusing and ripping up a bill from NSW for their share of the bill towards quarantining returned QLD residents.
A bill of $30million was accrued as a result of quarantining returned QLD residents in NSW. The states, apparently, had an agreement in place that they would share the bill proportionately.
So, NSW taxpayers and government take on the extra risks/costs to take the majority of returned Australian citizens during the pandemic and the QLD government don't want to pay their share???? Hmm, Wonder how that looks to the Olympic committee on the same day they announced they are the preferred host! Disregarding, whichever side of politics you sit, I would expect if the situation was reversed that Gladys pay NSW's fair share! Twoup
