I have always been amazed that the Qld Govt were so non communicative, brutal and determined in their actions against Cougar at Kingaroy when:

1. The BTEX actually recorded would be perfectly acceptable drinking water in majority of countries around the world

2. There is a lot more BTEX in your average can of soft drink than the saline groundwater at Kingaroy

3. Potential "on-farm" or naturally occuring BTEX was never properly investigated because such possibility was specifically not included in the terms of reference of the Independent Scientific Panel ... is was just assumed it had to be Cougar, which is pretty damn unscientific imo

4. The nearby Tarong Power Station discharges substantial BTEX, particulates, sulphuric acid and other nasties to the atmosphere around Kingaroy
