These days they are a little more sophisticated, but bulltish all the same. I don't read them anymore.

My mother in law, who is a pensioner, does read them and gets a little hot under collar about all the complaints that are published. She claims that many of the numbers/expenditure quoted just don't add up and probably don't include discretionary spending on fags, booze and gambling, amongst others.

I think you hit the nail on the head there , between booze , smokes and gambling is enough to seed anybody to the poor house , give these up and they could eat sirloin steak every night
