Here's how it actually goes in the PS ... you make a nuisance or get ahead of yourself and they gradually strip away your staff until it's just you. Then they stop inflow of paperwork, so you sit at a desk with nought to do, eventually resigning and/or whining to a presser who can do the most damage.

And that's how it goes, regardless of what the public think.
