it is a poor option, there is no rail anywhere near QE2, and people who go to the Nissan Arena next door which is a small basketball stadium complain about getting there. Even when there is a crowd going out there the roads get full and buses take ages to get there, and there isn’t much parking for buses or cars. The road system at MacGregor is not designed for significant traffic. Miles is committing to an option with significant cost and won’t be permanent. By the time the Olympics rolls around it will be 50 years since that stadium was part of the much smaller and less prestigious Comm Games. No winners here, just a government in crisis not knowing what to do. They should have had a well thought out plan before bidding for the Olympics. Nobody else really wanted it, and Brisbane infrastructure can’t handle it. I will enjoy the games when they happen, but will never forget the lack of planning that was part of the lead up.
