The Vic Park development would not take up all the green space. It is more likely to be less than 10% of the space (it used to be an 18 hole golf course, and if you go there, nobody is there. It is 64 hectares and will give the community more reason to go. The MCG (3rd largest in world) is only 4.05 hectares, so if we replicated the area of the MCG complex it would only be around 6% of the available area, and we would probably not go that big.
If a government wants a legacy they have to look at solutions that will serve us for 50+ years, rather than limp through the Olympics.
