The Queensland Government has delivered an austere budget promising growth, rebuilding and resilience, but framed by multi-billion-dollar hits from falling revenue and natural disasters.

Key expenditures include a 6.6 per cent increase or $707 million increase in the education budget.

The disability services budget is up $64 million, or 4.7 per cent.

The health budget is up 4.5 per cent, or $533 million.

The budget promises 267 new police, 724 new teachers and support staff, as well as 155 new and replacement ambulances.

However, the State Government is still spending more than it earns, with the 2013-14 budget forecasting a deficit of $7.664 billion.
