We could halve the Public service and still get a "good" job done. Yeh health workers, public sector aged care workers, teachers, police, ambos, firies, etc lets halve them all eh. Then there's railway workers, bus drivers roadworks staff only need half eh. Halve the trains and busses running.
Also - what the heck are our over paid teachers doing? Each year we get dumber high school graduates. In 5 weeks my youngest grand daughter is going to graduate. Her maths is appalling. Her knowledge of history is embarrassing. Ever considered that her parents have brought her up that way making teachers jobs nearly impossible? All she knows is how to shop, watch rubbish on TV, keep her nose in her phone and please a boyfriend. As for aspirations, she has none except possible getting a husband ASAP.
No wonder engineering has become a 4 year course at University. The first year is teaching the kids what they should have learnt at high school. Engineering was always a four year degree course.
