Mark McArdle. QLD Liberal leader and likely Deputy Premier if LNP win this weekend.

    From SMH (http://news.smh.com.au/breaking-news-national/lnp-says-labor-ads-sink-to-new-low-20090317-90cj.html)

"Mr McArdle was a partner in Sunshine Coast law firm Boyce Garrick and a director of First Mortgage Investment Services when mostly elderly investors lost around $30 million in the 1990s.

He was named as a defendant in at least five class actions.

The scheme led to his partner, former Boyce Garrick principal Terry Boyce, being struck off the solicitors' roll in 2003.

Mr McArdle told parliament in 2008 the matters had been investigated by the Queensland Law Society and he had been exonerated from "any activity that could be called improper"."

So could this man be an asset to PIF or a good target for sending a message about PIF anguish. (I guess the ALP is hoping for the latter from PIF, Storm, City Pacific etc investors) Any thoughts? Bligh's ALP certainly doesn't seem to have cared about PIF investors.

McArdle might do something to clean up QLD's growing claim as Australia's home of 'lets see what we can get away with' businesses. (PIF, City Pacific, ABC, Storm, etc) Or is that just wishful thinking?
