The beauty of the $10 b SEQ water grid is its flexibility. Water can be pumped north, south, east, west, using different water sources including dams, reservoirs, desal and god forbid even recycled water depending on what component of the grid fails.
With the massive mud issue now occurring I see Major General Newman cranking up the Desal output into the water grid. Maybe this is some small validation of the previous governments attempt to put in place a drought AND emergency proof water grid.
Anyway, this natural disaster has locked in a number of things...Newman can kiss good bye his crazy employment targets and return to surplus anytime soon.
