Has this been kept quiet as the first time I'm reading this, but this is quite significant is the trial expands and is rolled out state-wide (and possibly nationally across state's). We know quarantine isn't going away and ScoMo has mentioned 'home quarantine', so contract would be big with govt. Disregard if this has already been discussed on a different thread.

Queensland home quarantine app becomes mandatory

Queensland’s home quarantine monitoring system will become mandatory today as authorities prepare to let more people back into the state.

The Australian last week revealed the state had been trialling interactive text message system Whispir to monitor the compliance of children who were allowed to quarantine at home after returning from interstate hotspots.

Queensland is expected to expand its home quarantine trial within weeks, to allow fully vaccinated travellers from interstate hotspots return home.

Health Minister Yvette D’Ath, pictured above, said from Thursday, all close contacts ordered into home quarantine would also have to use the app.

“The new system sends a random message to individuals quarantining, at least once a day, while they are in home quarantine,” she said.

“The message will have a hyper-link that requires individuals to open and respond within 10 minutes.

“Potential breaches will be assessed by police to identify whether further action is required – including fines and a direction to go into hotel quarantine at their own cost.”

Scott Morrison has previously said home quarantine needed to be “a viable and widespread option for people who are travelling overseas and returning” once the international borders reopen.
