its not illegal, they can do it they just dont on a stock like this the providers have the right to set markets on the asx codes . look ant cnp for years i played longs and shorts on this stock and at the end i wish i shorted longer i got out at 6 bucks good money but now at 5 cents i could of brought a pub .you cant short cnp anymore they closed there books on it . in fact i dont even think you can go long .there are two codes for cnp to go long but there not selling there only taking closeing trades untill 29/6/2012.shorting once again is not that easy , one you need to find someone to let you on and two there not silly .
