The first test work carried out by PM1 (QPM) was done by the CSIRO,where Altilium had done previous test work. PM1 (QPM) moved to ALS Perth and a pilot plant was built with the help of Altilium. Fourteen tonnes of New Caledonia laterite ore was processed which produced a mixed hydroxide precipitate MHP above expected specifications for Ni, Co and Fe.The MHP product is the end of the DN1 process. Further processing is needed to separate the Ni ,Co Fe and Al in the MHP this was successfully carried out with further steps.
