I don't think those were the performance shares, those were exercised options from its shell days, they were due to expire in December, so it makes sense for those holders to exercise them now.
I would suggest the falls are in line with current market sell offs. They don't seem overly excessive compared to some others and the volume is pretty light, particularly in relation to the volume as it reached recent high of 17.5 before the market capitulated.
