I'm surprised they got a patent honestly - its a novel application (using an image classifier for food quality control) but the technology that underpins the system has been out in the wild for years so it wouldnt be difficult for a competitor to copy it and just point it at something else. As additional revenue the qt camera is great but @50 a month I cant see it becoming the focus of the business. We'd need a shitload of cameras to be a profitable business.

Does the patent even cover 'food' in general or just pizza?
